Overview
Most ERP reporting stops at a static page you print or export. Nama ERP’s Business Intelligence module goes further: it turns your live operational data into dashboards your team can click through — charts that filter each other, data points that drill into detail, and figures that open the actual record behind them.
Because BI reads directly from the same database your transactions are written to, there is no overnight sync, no separate data warehouse to fund, and no extra analytics licence to buy. The number on the dashboard is the number in the ledger.

Dashboards built from real components
A dashboard is a grid layout holding as many widgets as you need. Each widget is a chart, a table or a metrics card, and each one pulls its own data. Dashboards can be split into tabs, so a single sales dashboard can carry a summary tab, a by-branch tab and a detail tab without becoming unreadable — and tabs load lazily, so opening the dashboard stays fast no matter how much it contains.
41 chart templates, no JSON required
The module ships with 41 ready-made chart templates across 11 categories — bar (including stacked, waterfall and prior-period comparison), line (including dual Y-axis and step), area, pie and donut, gauge, combination bar+line, scatter and bubble, radar, funnel, treemap and heatmap.
You pick a template from a searchable gallery that renders each option as a live mini-chart, then customise it in a designer with a live preview beside the form — title, palette, legend, axes, data labels, zoom and type-specific options such as donut hole size or bar corner radius. Nothing requires hand-writing chart configuration.
Cross-filtering across the whole dashboard
Shared filters — branch, date range, customer, category — slice every widget at once. Click a wedge in a pie chart and the rest of the dashboard reflows to that selection. Filters carry across tabs, and the dashboard state can be bookmarked and shared as a URL, so “the view I was looking at” is something you can send to a colleague.
Drill-down and click-through to the record
Three kinds of drill are supported:
- Chart to chart — click a data point to open a related chart, pre-filtered to that point’s context.
- Chart to dashboard — open an entire dashboard scoped to what you clicked.
- Drill by dimension — right-click a data point and re-cut the same chart by any other dimension, on the fly.
Beyond drilling, a data point can link straight to the underlying record — click a customer in a chart and open that customer’s screen in the ERP. Analysis and action stay in one place instead of ending at a dead-end report.
Build data sources with or without SQL
Each widget draws on either a raw SQL query or a wizard data source. The wizard lets you define data using Nama ERP field paths — marking each field as a dimension or a measure with Sum, Count, Average, Min or Max — and generates the SQL for you, resolving joins automatically. Wizard-backed widgets also unlock dimension drill-by and automatic cross-filter wiring.
Tables that behave like reports
The enhanced table widget adds per-column formatting, conditional and row-level styling, and the same cross-filter, drill-down and link behaviour as the charts — so a table is an exploration surface, not just a grid of numbers.
Period comparison and live refresh
Compare any measure against a prior period directly in the chart definition, and set dashboards to refresh automatically so a wall-mounted screen stays current without anyone touching it.
Building dashboards with AI
The BI module’s technical reference documents every JSON structure, SQL pattern and import format the module accepts — and it is written to be readable by AI tools as well as by developers.
In practice that means you can describe the dashboard you want in plain language to an AI assistant, point it at the technical reference and at dm.namasoft.com for the data model, and have it generate a complete dashboard import file — cross-filters, drill-downs and styling included — which you then import into Nama ERP. For dashboards with many interconnected charts this is dramatically faster than building each widget by hand.
Reports
BI sits alongside Nama ERP’s report layer rather than replacing it. Where a dashboard is for exploring, the Report Wizard builds the structured, printable documents a business still runs on — with grouping, layout control, bilingual Arabic/English report titles, and unit-of-measure conversion — so operational reporting and visual analysis are covered by the same system.
